Did you know that KiCK stands for Kids Internationally Changing Kids? At KiCK Martial Arts of Kansas City, we believe that children catalyze change. Through your child’s attendance at KiCK, they are making a tangible difference in the lives of children around them, and also in the lives of children in other parts of the world. KiCK isn’t like any other martial arts studio in Kansas City. Your child will not only learn Taekwondo or Jiu-Jitsu, they will learn more about who they are, how they can serve others, and why that creates a positive impact on the world.
At KiCK Martial Arts, your child will learn:
- Skills in Taekwondo or Jiu-Jitsu
- Who They Are
- How To Serve Others
- Why That Creates A Positive Impact
KiCK is also a unique martial arts school because we have two locations: Kansas City and Haiti. So, why Haiti?
Why We Have A School In Haiti
Before KiCK was even a school, Mrs. Tiffany was invited to teach Taekwondo in Haiti. Tiffany was excited because it was a free trip to a country she had never been to. What she didn’t know is that the trip to Haiti was a missions trip with an organization called Global Orphan.
Global Orphan provides sustainable, local, family-style care that is deeply rooted in compassion, hope, and the belief that every child deserves a chance.
Tiffany witnessed the amazing things that Global Orphan was doing for those kids, and she wanted to be a part of it. From that moment, Tiffany’s life changed forever. She knew that when she came back to the United States she wanted to open up a martial arts school that combined missions and martial arts. A martial arts studio that would change the lives of kids in both Kansas City and Haiti.
Mr. TJ and Mrs. Tiffany met after Tiffany was in Haiti, and one thing that brought them together was their joint passion for combining missions and martial arts. Because of their similar dreams, they decided to open up KiCK Martial Arts. The rest is history!
How We Serve In Haiti
Each year, families at KiCK are invited to join the KiCK team on a missions trip to Haiti to visit the orphanages. Everyone that attends gets to visit the school that KiCK funds, teach and learn taekwondo right alongside the Haitians, and build positive relationships. For the KiCK families that don’t go to Haiti (which is totally ok!), we have fundraisers and service Saturday events throughout the year to help raise money for the school that we fund. The proceeds from these events help provide the lunch cost for the orphans who attend school there.
